Our residency program curriculum has been carefully constructed to provide each resident with thorough training in all facets of Emergency Medicine. Our graduates are prepared for careers in Emergency Medicine in academic or private practice. Approximately 60 percent of each resident's training takes place in the Emergency Care Center of Grady Memorial Hospital. The remaining training is in areas chosen for their special relevance to Emergency Medicine. Our curriculum is regularly evaluated and updated to ensure the best possible educational experience available in Emergency Medicine.
The residency program in Emergency Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine is designed to meet all requirements of the American Board of Emergency Medicine and the Residency Review Committee of Emergency Medicine, the residency credentialing body of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Our residents have an excellent performance record on both the written and oral parts of the certifying examination. The Emergency Medicine program is fully accredited by the ACGME, as is the Emory University School of Medicine and all of its residency programs. Emory fully supports the ACGME work hour requirements.
